Part 1: Top Nostalgic Properties We Would Love To Throw Our Money At (GHOSTBUSTERS)

Randy Bowen over at NECA recently gave the Fwoosh a sneak peek at their upcoming Defenders of the Earth toy line. First of all, let's start by saying how freaking cool these figures looked, and secondly, it got us waxing nostalgic about other lines of our past that are in dire need of a proper 6 inch classic treatment. We're talking A-list sculpting, loads of articulation, attention to the easter eggs, and meant for the true collector which means deep dives all around at prices low enough that will allow for our wallets to keep coming back for more.
We came up with a surprising amount of series with a diverse character selection that we would be happy to throw our paychecks toward, but the question now is which toy company is going to buckle down and take a chance on these fan favorites to bring them to life?
For this list we'll skip the longer-winded explanations of why we chose these characters and just go with the idea that the choices here are all characters we just thought we'd be thrilled to have done in a unified animated classic and look freaking awesome and entirely right at home with the other modern "classic" figures on our shelves.

Yeah yeah, we know there is already a nostalgic retro Real Ghostbusters line out there, but we are talking figures that were coming out in the Diamond Toys style or Matty Collector style where they have a unified look and size range (which varies for ghosts) and also focuses heavily on the various cartoon series like Real Ghostbusters, Filmation Ghostbusters, Extreme Ghostbusters, Tobin's Spirit Guide Source Book, concept characters, and various comic book Ghostbusters (including but not limited to NOW comics, 88MPH Studios, TokyoPop, and IDW), (sure fine we can have movie figures here too, but if they show up in the line they are going to be consistent in the classic cohesive animation style of the cartoons).
This may be a licensing nightmare, not to mention the often spoken rule of not crossing streams, but seeing all your favorite Ghostbusters together in one line? No matter how much of a specific line purist we are, we KNOW it's TOTALLY worth it, and we know that if this were a subscription based line that we'd be asking "who ya gonna call" to get subbed up in a heartbeat (despite the notable absence of one for many of the characters in the line).
